iPadOS 16 arrives with interesting news

Stage Manager | iPad OS 16

The great addition to iPadOS 16 is, without a doubt, Stage Manager. This feature, which it shares with macOS Ventura, allows you to access new multitasking features and take full advantage of using an external screen. During WWDC, Apple explained that this feature allows you to use up to four open applications simultaneously, and brings compatibility up to 6K monitors.

However, Stage Manager is also considered one of the reasons —or THE reason— why the release of iPadOS 16 has taken longer than expected. In August, Bloomberg published that the poor performance of this feature in the first beta of the operating system had generated a lot of negative feedback from users. Therefore, Apple focused on polishing it and this led to its delay.

Beyond the delay, the good news we learned at the end of September was that Apple had started to bring Stage Manager to some iPad Pros without the M1 chip, with the most recent beta of iPadOS 16. Specifically, to the versions with the A12X SoCs. and A12Z. A pleasant novelty, considering that initially its availability was limited to variants with Apple Silicon due to RAM memory limitations.

Another of the additions that iPadOS 16 boasts is the new weather app, which was one of the most demanded among the public. In this way, iPad users will no longer rely on the web browser to access weather information. This means that, finally, they will be able to do it from a dedicated application, just like on the iPhone.

Of course, iPadOS 16 comes with many of the new features that are also part of iOS 16.. Among them, the improvements to Live Text to capture text in videos and the option to eliminate the background of the photos by pressing on them. And let's not forget the improvements to iMessage to delete already sent messages, just to name a few.
